Collaboration Practices
- Since we’re fully remote, we try to work asynchronously as much as possible, keeping our meeting load low while maintaining high visibility with quick video shares and lots of Slack threads.
- When we’re starting on projects, we kick those off with a collaborative document in our wiki to gather thoughts and assumptions. This helps keep us on track without a lot of meetings.
- Decisions we make are based on data we trust. We’re proud of the quality of our data, frequently sharing insights internally in Slack, so we strive to keep those signals high.
- We’re passionate about what we work on and love sharing ideas and talking shop. We hold weekly discussions on Engineering architecture to help iron out technical challenges and collaboratively develop better engineering practices.
- Our monthly Lightning Talks allow Engineers a place to demo new developments and see what others have been working on.
- We often have Engineers that live in metro areas broadcast where they will be that day so others may come work with them in the same space. We plan regular team collaboration events for bringing more distributed teams together for big kickoffs.
